This is the fifth and last movement of "Cavatina", a guitar partita composed by the french-polish composer Alexandre Tansman around 1950/51. Danza Pomposa, pompous dance, is an 'ABA' form. The 'A' section is strong and rhythmically punctuated while the 'B' section is a little bit more lyrical with a new melodic idea and a fugato-like contrapuntal treatment.
